I finished The Caledonian Gambit by Dan Moren (Amazon | iBooks) today. Moren, best known for his technology writing and podcast work, created an engaging sci-fi universe and character ensemble in his fiction debut. It was a fast and fun read, and I’d love to see it turn into a series. 👍

Readwise made the jump to public beta today. It’s a simple idea: resurface those passages you highlighted in Kindle books and promptly forgot about. The developers were very responsive to user feedback during the private beta, and I’m excited to see where they take the service.

Short Trip by Alexander Perrin is such a lovely mashup of analog and digital. I can't wait to see what comes in future installments. Bonus: leaving it open in a browser tab provides some nice ambient sounds for working.

I’ve been binge-watching season three of Narcos. From an authenticity standpoint, I respect the fact that like 60 percent of it is in Spanish with subtitles. But it’s complicating my ability to throw it in iPad picture-in-picture while I obsessively Google factual details.
