Celebration of life details

As you may have seen referenced in Christine and Spencer’s obituaries, we will be holding a celebration of life for them one week from today, on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 2 p.m.

Here are the complete details of the event:

• Date: February 23, 2025
• Time: 2 p.m. (Doors open at 1 p.m.)
• Location: Veterans Memorial Auditorium (“The VETS”), One Avenue of the Arts, Providence, RI 02903
• Suggested Dress: Comfortable and colorful

If you’re not familiar with downtown Providence, The VETS is right next to the Rhode Island State House and the Providence Place shopping mall, both of which are fairly noticeable landmarks.

There are some surface parking lots in front of the theater, but if it were me, I would park in the Providence Place garage. It’s directly across the street from the rear side of the theater (visible in the photo above), and it’s $2 for up to five hours.

The VETS is also a very short walk from the Providence train station, which is served by both Amtrak and the MBTA Commuter Rail. You can find more specific details and directions on The VETS website.

The Renaissance Providence Downtown Hotel is part of the same building complex as The VETS. Most other downtown Providence hotels are within walking distance or a short drive or rideshare trip to The VETS.
